Getting
a CRRC Product Rating
If you have not already
become licensed with the CRRC, you will
need to do so before you can obtain a CRRC Product Rating. Please click here for more
information.
Product Rating
Overview
Now that you are licensed with the CRRC,
there are a few other required steps to obtain a product rating:
- Choose an AITL,
and send your product samples along with a Test Results Report and Test
Farm Notification (see below) to the lab for an initial
testing. Please call the AITL directly to coordinate testing
of samples and fees for their services.
- Contact a CRRC Test Farm
to coordinate 3-year weathering (and fees for service) with
them.
- When your selected AITL
has completed initial testing, they will send the Test Results Report
to you, and send your samples directly to the Test Farm for 3-year
weathering.
- Once you have received
the Test Results Report back, return your application packet and fees
to the CRRC (please see below for all the necessary
forms).
- Note: Once your company's 3-year weathering
samples have aged for their duration, you will need to coordinate again
with an AITL of your choice to retest your product for an aged rating. See
below for information on the aged rating process.

Interested in a Color Family Product Rating?
The Color Family Program is
designed for types of products that have thousands of colors within a
narrowly defined color range, for example factory-coated metal. The
CRRC allows groups of colors that fit within this narrow range and are
of a given binder/resin material technology to be rated as one group,
sharing a CRRC ID number.
As there is a lot that goes
into a color family product rating, it is recommended that you read the
CRRC instructional document "How
do I Get a Color Family Product Rating?" as well as CRRC Procedure 3: Color
Family Program.
A designated
Color Family Representative Element must be rated first before a
company can establish a color family. For the initial rating
of a Color Family Representative Element, submit the following :
- Product
Rating Application (CRRC-F-3)
- Test Results
Report (CRRC-F-2)
- Corresponding color family group fee ($215 per color family group, including representative element, not including additional elements)
- If your company is rating an LS
product*, your products will be eligible for selection
by the CRRC Random Testing Program and you must also provide the
following:
- Contractor/Distributor
Contact Form (CRRC-F-9)
- A copy of the letter
sent to Contractor/Distributors. A template can be downloaded here
for modification.

Family Representative Element).
